Jesus for Sale

Marcellino D'Ambrosio, of EWTN fame is encouraging a boycott of Ebay, after getting nowhere trying to educate them about an item that was auctioned through their site.

What was the item you ask? Strap on your seat belts boys and girls. The item was the true body and blood of Our Lord! Allegedly, a host consecrated by John Paul II was auctioned and, fortunately, purchased by a faithful Catholic in Iowa who immediately took it to his parish for proper consumption.

Because D'Ambrosio, and other outraged Catholics, have not made progress in adding consecrated hosts to the forbidden items list at Ebay through their email campaign with "Safe Harbor" (Ebay's support staff), a petition and boycott campaign is being organized.

Just Another "Old Boy" Pope

Boy Ol' Boy! Laura Washington of the Sun-Times sure is worked up over women being "opressed and exploited" by The Church. The Cardinals didn't pray to "her Jesus", and so Benedict isn't really her Pope, I presume.

I wonder if Catherine of Sienna or Mother Teresa knew they had no voice and could not lead? Believe me, The Church and the world would be a hell of a lot different if those two hadn't been so ignorant about their powerlessness. And Dear Lord! let the Holy Spirit know that this whole damn pope-picking thing has been "illegitmate" right from the get go- in the spirit of gender equality, Jesus obviously should have consulted Mary and Martha before He named Peter His rock!

Of course, Laura, it's nothing tossing a few bitchy butchy wiccan nuns in lime-green pant suits into the conclave wouldn't fix.

(Hey Laura, I know this really far-out protestant parish right down the road, why don't you go there, conjure up a few potions, and be happy- leave those of us who actually love being Catholic alone and in peace. I mean, we do have a right to our opinion don't we?!)

Veruca Salt Eats American Catholic Pie

My friend, Abigail Palmer, waxes Willy Wonka on the excesses of Catholics in America in her second published article.

Nice job Abi!

Hey, could someone tell The American Spectator that it's "either/or, neither/nor"?! {Sigh!}

Re-Evengelization

"The Church is by its very nature missionary, its first task is evangelization. At the start of the third millennium, the Church feels with renewed vigor that the missionary mandate from Christ is more current than ever."
--Pope Benedict XVI, upon visit to The Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls,
his first pontifical foray outside The Vatican

Or, in other words, The West has become a fat lot of heathen piggies, and I'm going to do my best to mop up the mess.

I can hear the weak boney knees of bishops all over America knocking together now.
